In his first season as a full-time starter at Defensive End, Davin Vann proved to be a dominant force. He posted 33 tackles, 8 tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks as a True Sophomore. ProFootballFocus’ grade for Vann at seasons end was 74.6, which was the highest of anyone on the Wolfpack Defensive Line with 200 snaps or more.
In the 3-3-5 defensive scheme, the Defensive Ends don’t always get noticed, though their push is often what makes Linebackers look so good. Vann showed last year that with the combination of his strength and athleticism, he might just be able to flash in this scheme.
